Larry F. Reber, our President, was always a forward-thinker. He engineered the first-ever vacuum apparatus tailored specifically for fire service, upon request from a local department. Together with Rebecca Reber, they established Reberland Equipment Inc. in 1974. The company initially focused on the sale and maintenance of farm equipment and light commercial products. However, in 1985, a request from the New Pittsburg, Ohio Fire Department led to a significant shift in operations. They asked for a vacuum unit to be built on their existing chassis, a 1971 (IH) Loadstar. Unrestricted by traditional paradigms, Larry's approach to the fire service sector was revolutionary. Following meticulous research and innovative design, the first "Firovac™" came into existence. This creation marked the beginning of our journey in manufacturing custom vacuum tankers, and fire truck tankers.
